OIL-XORB ERC significantly improves the performance of oil/water separators, removes oil and scale from decks and bulkheads, and can be used for all general purpose cleaning on board. Separation of oil and solids in the bilge is caused by the presence of OIL-XORB ERC, and separated oil can be recovered or recycled. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
OIL-XORB ERC is an all-purpose cleaner/degreaser and de-emulsifier especially formulated for the maritime shipping industry. It cuts grease better than any other surfactant. However, unlike other effective fast-break cleaning products currently in use, OIL-XORB ERC is completely safe to use, can be used in all areas of the vessel, and will not emulsify oil and water, and dramatically reduce the ship operator's material and labor expenses.
OIL-XORB ERC is activated by mixture with fresh or salt water, and will remain effective for 30-45 days, it then biodegrades. Not only does our product lift oil, dirt and soot, it actually forces a separation of oil from the water, and prohibits re-mixture. The hydrocarbons will rise to the top, over a layer of the OIL-XORB ERC and water. OIL-XORB ERC stays with the water; therefore the solution can be recovered and reused.
This powerful de-emulsifying agent will dramatically improve the performance of oily water separators. Disposable filters will last longer between replacements. Reusable filters can be cleaned in a vat of OIL-XORB ERC and water dangerous acid baths are no longer needed.
OIL-XORB ERC is also a rust, scale, and corrosion predator. Particulate matter removed by contact with the product, is pushed to the bottom of the effluent during settling. A protective microfilm, which can be painted, remains behind to prevent further build up.
OIL-XORB ERC, when present in the ship's bilge, will migrate down into the sludge at the bottom, removing contamination. This process is aided by the natural sloshing motion of the vessel. It even gets the grime along seams and rivets.
The bilge can be cleaned at a fraction of the current cost by merely pouring the product into it, then filling with water. While the soaking time required depends on the amount of build up, for the initial application a couple of days should be long enough. Skim the hydrocarbons off the surface. Draw out the middle OIL-XORB ERC water layer and reuse elsewhere. This process can be performed in a settling tank as well; it leaves the lines, hoses, pumps and tank interior clean, too.

APPLICATION
We recommend mixing OIL-XORB ERC in a 1:10 ratio with water. Mixing s stronger solution is usually wasteful. A simple brushing with the solution is adequate in most applications. Power washing is extremely effective especially with hot water, as long as electrical fixtures are protected. The mixture can also be remotely sprayed under pressure into inaccessible areas. The effluent can then be collected for separation and settling. Users of OIL-XORB ERC have found tremendous success in dip tanks with mixed concentrations as low as 1:25.

CLEANING ABILITY
OIL-XORB ERC degreases better than any other product on the market, including solvents which are extremely hazardous to the environment, to the people who must work with them, and to the vessels. Usually, when EPA or OSHA mandates the removal or restriction of a dangerous but effective product, industry must then pay more for an inferior substitute. This is not the case with OIL-XORB ERC.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS
OIL-XORB ERC is an earth-friendly product. It is non-toxic and biodegradable. When the mixture is released into the water, no environmental hazard is presented. It will not harm fish or plant life.
Because OIL-XORB ERC can be reused, the problem of constant disposal of cleaning chemicals is removed. Following the 30-45 day active life of the product more is simply added to maintain desirable levels. The product stays with the water, but forces oil and particulate matter out of the mixture. Therefore the mixture remains quite clean. Also, OIL-XORB ERC degrades phenol and benzene rings in the water.

OIL-XORB ERC is harmless to the skin and lungs, and will not cause dermatitis or tissue damage. Beyond that, poisonous biological hydrogen sulfide gas is destroyed from the work environment.

The implementation of a simple sprinkler system will allow the cargo holds of oil tankers to be cleaned without sending employees into that dangerous environment (with flammable solvents) Corrosion on the surfaces between the double hulls can be removed without acids. The effluent is drawn from the bottom and allowed to settle.

ECONOMICS
While the price of current products may be less, when all parameters are considered, OIL-XORB ERC is much more cost effective to use. First, OIL-XORB ERC is diluted in a 1:10 ratio with water. This dramatically reduces its effective price. Second, the mixture can be reused, over and over again, for up to 30-45 days. How low the price becomes is therefore at the operator's discretion. Also, there will never be a need to purchase a de-emulsifier since this product performs that duty magnificently. Remember, OIL-XORB ERC also removes rust and corrosion.
Residual oil can be removed and recycled by skimming off the top layer of the settled effluent. If the user currently pays a slop truck to remove bile water or dip tank solutions, savings will be realized because the waste will be free of voluminous water and solvent.
Because the product is safe to use, many safety expenses can be avoided at every point down the line. As an example, SARA Act restrictions are avoided.
For all the reasons detailed in this report, it is obvious that OIL-XORB ERC will dramatically reduce the labor costs associated with the cleaning and maintenance of your vessels.
PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE
OIL-XORB ERC will remove corrosion, rust, and scale build-up on every surface it contacts. This not only includes the original area to be cleaned, but also hoses, pumps, pipes, and even drainage systems down line. A protective film is left to inhibit further build-up. Our product, when introduced into settling tanks, will clean and protect the inside surfaces, as well as de-contaminate the sludge at the bottom. It will also clean the interior of boiler systems. Therefore, OIL-XORB ERC extends equipment life through preventative maintenance.
